Maternal Grandmother

     Grandma's Forgetfulness

I was having a little problem with grandma two hours right before Lunar New Year. Last week, I took her to cash out a few for her luck money gift to the grandchildren. She said to withdraw $400 so I helped her cash out, and the staff count the bills right in front of me and I know it was a huge amount got put into the envelop. Before handing back to grandma, I checked the envelop and felt it was thick so I was sure that they gave us the exact amount.

Until today, when she opened the envelop and check, she said it was only $220. I was a bit upset because I know for sure that I got her the exact amount. She might have forgotten somewhere, so I told my mom to help looking around and in the envelop and I will give a call back.

I was a bit frustrated but I held back my anger and waited until my mom call me back. I asked if they've found it yet. Mom said: " YES, Grandma was putting in a few envelop and did not remember that she has put in." Mom also mentioned that she was a bit forgetful so I will take note of this and will provide her doctor later when she has appointment for follow-up.

Although I get shaky a bit, still I tried to calm myself and eased the anxiety down to the lowest because I knew that it was my fault that. I should've check before head out the bank so we won't miscount. Eventually, mom told me that grandma did not let her do the counting led to the forgetfulness. Hopefully I will be more careful on the double checking process, making sure that we re-count before we leave the bank. From this situation, I learned that: "No one's fault, it was the forgetfulness!" 😆😆😆
